Volunteer Roles and Opportunities
All volunteer opportunities operate from our Festival Headquarters in Downtown Mount Vernon. Shifts are available daily throughout April. Most shifts last 3 to 4 hours, and we particularly appreciate weekend help.
Volunteer program activities often involve responsibilities like these:
- Greet guests and provide directions to tulip gardens, fields, and attractions.
- Answer phone calls and share local information.
- Help visitors with purchases at our gift shop.
- Hand out brochures and maps.
- Keep the office tidy and inviting.
You can also help at exciting events, like the Tulip Festival Ambassador Program, Tulip Parade or Street Fair booth.

As a newcomer to the Skagit Valley years ago, becoming a volunteer at the tulip festival office opened up a whole new world for me. Initially I knew no one in this community, but within a short period of time not only did I make instant friends but learned about the area and the people and its activities. I feel that I became a part of my new home, and I’ve always feel gratitude to the people involved in the Tulip Festival for making it such a fun and pleasant experience.
