Our 1998 featured artist, Alfred Currier, is having an exhibition of his work at the Schack Art Center in Everett from Aug. 5 – Sept 11. The Schack Art Center, 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett, will have an opening reception on August 5 from 5-8 pm. Both the reception and the exhibition are free and open to the public. The Schack Art Center hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday noon to 5 pm.
Currier works from his studio in Anacortes when he is not traveling abroad. He paints vibrant landscapes in oil impasto, often featuring the migrant workers in the tulip fields of the Skagit Valley.
The 1998 piece Currier painted for the Tulip Festival proudly hangs in our office at 311 W Kincaid St. in downtown Mount Vernon. The public is can come and view the painting during office hours.
