Tulip Ambassadors Christian Lathrom and Veronica Pratt were treated to high-flyin view of the tulip fields by the Young Eagles program on Monday April 20. The two students received a bird's eye view of their homes, schools and the hundreds of acres of blooming tulips here. Pilots Kevin Ware and David Mischke volunteered to take the ambassadors on their flight -- with a purpose -- encourage young people to fly and perhaps choose a flight-related career. A group of pilots will be available at the Fly-in on Saturday at Bay View airport to give free flights to children. The Young Eagles is part of a nationwide program that has flown 1.3 million children since 1992. The Fly-In will run from 10 am to 4 pm at the airport. It will feature a number of exhibits, entertainment, food and of course, airplanes. There will be a FREE air show from 1-2 pm.
