Poke around our valley and find your favorite hangout By: Cindy Verge
Skagit has something for everyone Tip toe through the 100s of acres of tulips and then discover what else our valley has to offer. Talk to tulip fans and they will tell you local restaurants, lodging establishments and shops keep them coming back. Some things you might want to check out: Pet alpacas and find out about them with a visit to Country Time Alpacas in Sedro-Woolley. Take a boat tour -- Deception Pass Tours offers one hour excursions, Orcas Island Eclipse Charters offers a bit more comprehensive tourings and Paraclete Charters will do a private ride just for your group. Try a new restaurant or visit an old favorite -- Applebee's in Burlington with something for everybody, Big Scoop (great burgers and ice cream, plus other items) in Mount Vernon, LaConner Seafood and Prime Rib (as good as it sounds) and the Star Bar in Anacortes, fabulous for a quiet dinner. You will find complete listings for all these restaurants under Places to Eat. Looking for lodging? We have bed and breakfasts, hotels, and RV camping. Burlington/Cascade KOA offers great RV accommodations and camping. Katy's Inn offers a quick walk to downtown LaConner and a nice view of the channel. Traditional hotel lodging (with great service and rooms) can be found at the Hampton Inn in Burlington. Anacortes' Ship Harbor Inn is nestld right beside the San Juan ferry dock and gives visitors a perfect seat for boat watching. There are many more choices, listed here on our website and in our brochure. We hope you find a favorite spot to call your own when you come and visit.
